NCC Volume Three (PCA) A5.3 Evidence of suitability.
The National Construction Code (NCC) Volume Three (also known as the Plumbing Code of Australia or PCA) set’s out the Performance requirements for certain products used in plumbing and drainage installations to ensure they are fit for purpose and appropriately authorised for use in plumbing and drainage installations.
As set out in Volume Three (PCA) A5.3 Evidence of suitability
(1) Any product that is intended for use in contact with drinking water must comply with the relevant requirements of AS/NZS 4020, verified in the form of either—
(a) a test report provided by an Accredited Testing Laboratory, in accordance with AS/NZS 4020; or
(b) a WaterMark Licence issued in accordance with (3), if it includes compliance with AS/NZS 4020. The PCA is the critical link between State and Territory Acts and Regulations ensuring they perform in a manner which meets the regulatory obligations across the whole country. Further to this the method of testing and requirements are outlined within the Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4020.
